Have You Seen Our Community Herb Garden?
Darren Levitt
There’s a lot going on here at Merge Carmel Valley, including some projects that may surprise you. For example, did you know that we have our own community herb garden? If you haven’t seen it yet, we welcome you to come check it out. All members of our community are welcome to come harvest herbs for their own personal use.
The Benefits of Our Community Herb Garden
We’re excited about our community herb garden in San Diego… and here are just a few of the reasons why.
Herbal gardening is good for you! Community members who participate in our herb garden may enjoy a number of personal health benefits. For one thing, using herbs in your home cooking is a powerful way to boost your vitamin and nutrient consumption. Additionally, the physical act of gardening can be an amazing form of exercise.
You’ll fall in love with home meal prep. Do your dinnertime staples feel a little rote? Are you tired of the same old flavors? The addition of fresh herbs can unlock new tastes and bold culinary adventures. By joining us in our herb garden in San Diego, you can spice things up… literally.
It can help you save money. Buying fresh or organic herbs at the grocery store can be a little bit expensive. Starting an herb garden at home, or participating in our community herb garden, helps you enjoy herbal goodness without having to pay so much for it.
Herb gardening can be educational. By participating in our herb garden in San Diego, you may learn a few things about botany, about the culinary sciences, and about gardening techniques. Not only that, but if you bring your kids along to the community herb garden, it will give you a great chance to do some hands-on learning with them.
Meet neighbors. One thing we love about having an herb garden in Carmel Valley is that so many members of our community have shown up to participate. When you join us, it will provide you with an extraordinary opportunity to meet some new people (in an outdoor, socially distanced, masked-up setting, of course).
Herbal gardening can be a great stress reliever. The pandemic has taken a toll on all of us, but if you need some release, spending time in the garden can be a great way to get it. Come breathe some fresh air, enjoy the glow of the sun, and get your body moving.
You can experience different kinds of herbs. Looking to sample some basil? How about mint? There are countless varieties of herbs you can choose from, and our community herb garden is a great place to broaden your horizons.
